How to Show Referring Keywords in Your Email Lead Notifications
Let’s say you got 10 leads from your website yesterday… but 1 of those leads (Mary Smith) was a particularly good lead, and the other 9 were just average. With just simple “goal tracking” in Google Analytics you’d know that you got 10 leads, and you’d know the 10 keywords that resulted in the 10 leads, but you wouldn’t know which keyword Mary Smith searched on. That’s the gold nugget here!
With a little scripting and creativity you can get that information. You can take a look at your best leads, see what keywords they searched on, and then shift extra focus to optimizing for those types of keywords. You can also have more information when you call that lead, as now you’ll know what keyword they searched on and perhaps a bit more about their decision criteria.
