Jon Payne, MBA
PRESIDENT & FOUNDER
Jon Payne is the founder and President of Ephricon Web Marketing, and also frequently serves as a guest speaker, instructor, adviser and trainer with regard to a variety of internet marketing topics.
An “SEO Guy” at heart, Jon is responsible for managing the agency’s talent, systems, processes and overall operations. He’s also the agency’s only “sales guy,” and oversees strategy development and goal-setting for all client accounts.
Jon Payne holds an MBA from Loyola University Maryland, as well as a BS in Marketing and e-Business from Towson University, where he graduated at the top of his class (Summa Cum Laude honors, and chosen as his class’s student speaker at graduation).
Prior to Ephricon, Jon worked as an Internet Marketing Specialist with a Baltimore-based marketing agency. While still in school, Jon held an internship with Black & Decker in the corporation’s e-Business Department, where his responsibilities included user-interface testing and web development project management. Jon has also spent time as an in-house SEO consultant (SEO Business Analyst) for a $300 million B2B distributor in the telecommunications industry that generated $100 million annually in e-commerce sales. He later served as an outside consultant for the same firm for approximately 18 months, managing campaigns and training the in-house team to handle their own SEO activities.
Academic interests include consumer behavior, marketing strategy and advertising/promotional metrics. Having recently completed his MBA degree, Mr. Payne plans to pursue a PhD in Marketing at some point in the future. Long-term plans include teaching marketing and entrepreneurship at the college level.
Outside of playing on the internet (of course), Jon’s interests include spending time with his wife and children, watching the Redskins via DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket, working on his golf and racquetball games, and enjoying good movies on his prized HDTV.
